47heaven
Yeah, I saw those, too. Would be nice to have, but waaaaaaaaaaayyy out of my financial reach. I never seen any with the emblem before. Was that how they came from the factory?
BobT-47P15
Maybe from somebody's fender skirt factory, but far as I know there never were any "factory" Plymouth skirts. All were aftermarket. I've never seen that trim piece before....and I've seen a lot of Plymouth stuff.
BobT-47P15
Well, those trims might have originally been on a skirt for a 36 or 37 model Plymouth. Here's a pic from a magazine article (article for sale on ebay) showing a piece on the skirts. Skirts are different shape than ones sold. However, I still think they were aftermarket. May have been special ordered thru a dealer. But most cars of the day do not have them.
thedahmer
I thought that that emblem was on 49-51 pkymouths????
Skrambler
Hi Fellows. Those are actually factory skirts that were originally offered in 1942. The original part numbers were Plymouth 980522, Dodge 980574, De Soto 980523, and Chrysler 980525. I have the original dealership literature for these items, wish I could post a photo! Also, I am considering selling the pair I have. They are exactly like the ones on the bay. May list them this evening. I have them photographed on a spare 41 fender I have. They fit like a glove! I imagine that they would fit right on all the P-15's too! Regards
Justin Slingsby
I found those skirts today while researching carnut. http://www.carnut.com/cgi-bin/03/_image.pl?/show/03/pbo/nat1845.jpg
thedahmer
I would bet if the guy that owns that car knew those are worth that much they would be on the Bay--if they were mine.........
