There is, what looks like, a super minty Edmunds head for the long block on e-bay right now. Ever since I built the Desoto powered hot rod I have drooled for one of them to dress up the engine. Every time one comes up for sale they fly right past my pocketbook. Looks like this one is going to do the same. Not having been able to work for the past 7 months, because of this damn cancer, has taken my car fund right down to the rust at the bottom of the bucket.. It seems like these heads are more in demand now than when Eddie Edmunds was making them back in the 50's and 60's. Oh well, my road rocket will still do the speed limit just like it is. Besides, old John here has come up with an idea thats gonna blow your minds. Sorry, no clues till sometime this summer when I have it ready so keep an eye on these posts....John

John I would be interested in the hi-perf ideas for the long blocks. I have a 218 long block, and 3spd standard with a dry clutch in my 47 Chrysler Coupe.

But I have 2- 251s to be build up , with either dual or tri carbs, might even want to try a 2 bbl set-up if possible and headers, a wilder cam, etc. I also hve access to a 265 engine on a Lincoln welder, its about 10 miles from home, i can have it for a $100 if I want it.......................Fred

Fred;

Wish I were closer as I would have this 265 sitting in my garage right now for that price.
