Plymouthy Adams Posted May 17, 2008 Report Posted May 17, 2008 Joe..while I have no desire to install a rubber mat back in mine, I did however toss about and experiment with a product to simulate the coating/insulation on the floor, it has stranded fibers..I did the three foot wells.. I have almost 1 gallon of this stuff spread on the floor in the three places. My test section I did last week convinced me this should be just the ticket. Dries very well..stayed pliable, no odor..Further, I plan to coat this yet again with another product that will leave a good looking painted topcoat... As a follow up on this..the material I used, it has set up very well and is like the original coating..the odor is gone..I will admit there are just a few spots where it is soft due to the fact I did not trowel it super even..over all..excellent and I WILL use this product again...I am sure it would be set up completely if I had the car out in the air with the doors open instead of in the shop.... Johnny S Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Anyone heard any more about Wayne (or anyone else) working on the replacement floor mats discussed in this thread? Quote
Reg Evans Posted October 4, 2009 Report Posted October 4, 2009 Haven't heard anything. I'd like one for my 49 Suburban. Quote
Joe Flanagan Posted October 4, 2009 Author Report Posted October 4, 2009 I'd forgotten about it since I went on to other parts of my project but I'll be facing it at some point. I don't know if I'd be willing to buy one for the price that was mentioned earlier. Quote
