With the discussion of the pilot house ratrod in the other thread I thought I would share my plan for my own build. Truck will be a 40 plymouth pickup. Pretty much every body part is from a different truck. Going to just put them together as is. Thanks to Merle I've got a running flathead to power it. Trying to make sure my mental list of stuff I will need to get/buy is complete. Just got a feeling I am missing something. So far I have:

complete brake system

exhaust

tires

possibly u-joints

wood bed floor

the gas tank I have will need some attention-possibly will have it restored and then swap it for the decent one in my 46 pickup.

Ed, if all you got is an engine, brakes, exhaust, tires, u-joints, and bed wood, you've got a long way to go. ;)

I assume that you also have a frame, axles, steering linkage, cab, fenders, hood, grill, and bed panels? I saw your parts wanted post for rear fenders. I've seen your stock pile of bumpers, so I'm sure you can find one that'll work.

When are you going to assemble "Frankenstein's Monster"?

Edit: I see that this post got me into the "Zen Master" club. Should I feel smarter?

I've got all the body parts I think. I'm somewhat certain we have some back fenders in a pile at the resto shop where dads truck is. Have to check for sure in the spring. Pic below shows upper and lower grill plymouth script tailgate front fenders and doors. I have since added the box sides, front, and the running boards to this pile. Then 2 frames and cabs sitting at the cabin. I plan to use the tarp covered one.
