Chet (of weekend update fame) loaned me his new (POC) Plymouth Bulletin today. Has Tulsa coverage. Both Bob and Pete have there cars pictured. Nice article written by Brian (57plymouth) also. I did not read everything (as I am just learning to read) but looked at all the pictures.

And Tim Adams - consider joining the POC. Don and Bill's cars were included in the Powerpoint show at the POC banquet in Concord, NC. I expect to see those images in the next Plymouth Bulletin. The POC gets better when the likes of you join. There will be another tailgate party in Detroit. Maybe Chef Greg will make some more salt potatoes.

I expect the Detroit National (80th Plymouth Anniversary) to be a 300 car meet.

And some of the best car museums in the world: Ford, Chrysler, and Sloan (Buick). Be there. Bring some grub and grog. Eat, drink, and be merry. Again. Bob

Don-

Any way you can scan the pages and post them? I've let my subscription lapse, and am no longer getting the bulletin...

Maybe I can buy one from the POC or something...

Honestly I don't know. Will check. Could certainly order one and forward on too.

That would be the Bartlett's in Crete, Ne, who run the club store. Their info should be in the back of any Bulletin, even your older ones. They may even be listed on the WEB's home page. Lee

Bob-

When is the Detroit National? Would be fun to make another cross country trip in my '50............

Also, is there a way to get ahold of the powerpoint slide show via e-mail?

Pete I think its the last weekend in July. I recall it being close to my bday which is the 26th. BTW every year ending in 8 being an even 10 year anniversary of plymouth being founded calls for a Grand National Meet. It will be the only offical meet of the national in 08.

Do you have to be a memeber to buy the back issues?

Pete

Pete, I don't think you have to be a member to buy back issues of the bulletin. I remember when I joined years ago, I was told I could buy some back issues to see what the club was all about before joining. Since I've long since stopped being a member though, not sure if you still can.

Thanks for the scans Bob.

It's only 2000 miles... one way. No sweat!

Pete,

Like you have it mapped out, it's freeway/toll way all the way. But there will be big time sweat going that route. You will be going through the south side of Chicago on the I-80/I-90/I-94. Believe me when I say, that's no fun place to be. Traffic is terrible through that stretch, especially if you don't have an I-Pass for the tolls. (It's toll roads from Rockford, IL to the Chicago/Indiana border). Without an I-Pass you'll have to stop at each toll both between Rockford and Indiana to pay the toll. There are several just on the south side of Chicago alone. As an example of time involved. Without an I-Pass it takes me anywhere from 3 to 4 hours to go from the Wisconsin border to the Indiana border. With an I-Pass it only takes about 1 to 1 1/2 hours. If you're going that way, you should buy an I-Pass. Will cost you $50 to get it from the Illinois Toll Commission. After you get back home, you can return it and get any money you have left over out of your account. The I-Pass not only saves time because you don't have to stop at the toll both, but the price of each toll is half what you'd pay in cash for each booth without the pass. You could sit in each booth waiting in traffic for 5 to 10 minutes (or longer) at certain times of the day.

Otherwise if you want a more relaxing and something different to do, you could drive to Milwaukee. Once in Milwaukee you can take the Express Ferry across Lake Michigan (takes about an hour I think) to the Michigan side, then continue to Detroit. That's not cheap though. Think it's around $150, but it will save about 150 miles or so on your trip (one way), and all that Chicago mess.

Pete I'll meet you in Rochester and draft behind you the rest of the way there :) Well unless I take the 64 then you'll have to keep up

That ones Dads. 64 Fury with 26K miles. 318 push button auto. That one followed us home this summer. Its a quite clean original car. The rust is a little worse on this side then the pass side.
