48mirage Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 For those of you who like the Spitfire heads, here is one that I'm sure the seller doesn't understand what he's got, for it is not correctly listed. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Dodge-231-6-cyl-Spitfire-Head-Flathead_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ6755QQihZ020QQitemZ300175599692QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW Quote
50PlymouthSled Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 Are the old flatheads motor specific? Like on Small Block Chryslers you can bolt 360 heads on a 318. Is it the same for the Flatties or no? Just curious. Quote
Don Coatney Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 I wrote the seller and told him that the Spitfire head is a Crashler only head and will not work on a Dodge 231 unless it is made in Canada. I got this response. This head came off of an original 1950 1 1/2 ton dodge truck. I have also found other pictures of these heads on dodge trucks on the internet. Guess I learned something. I should mind my own business:rolleyes: Quote
Young Ed Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 Well I doubt it was original to that truck but it would fit on there same as a desoto or chrysler. Quote
Reg Evans Posted November 28, 2007 Report Posted November 28, 2007 Well....a 50 1.5 ton came with a 236.......not a 231.......so keep minding his business Don. Quote
