:) Before i bend, destroy or otherwise mangle a good hood..can someone with more knowledge than I tell me if my hood separates.. its a 52 dodge..1/2 ..I removed the hoods and center piece all at once...Now that i'm getting ready for paint..I was wondering how to separate each hood half. I dont see bolts...Any tips would be much appreciated.

I think a good person told me there is a tab you bend at the cab end you bend and the tab and the pin will come out.If I were you I would use some sort of lubricant.That is only if i am correct.Maybe you would want to wait a bit to see if I am on the money.

Yes, there is a tab at the back of the hinge. If you lay the hood upside down you'll see the tab bent up to keep the two pieces from sliding apart. All you have to do is bend the tab down so that it matches up with the rest of the rolled hinge, and then slide the two pieces apart. You may find that if you let the hood piece hinge open slightly, it'll slide apart easier.
