Miller tools

Is Miller the only company that made tools for our front suspension ?

I have a wanted ad and don't want to cut myself short on options.

I will be grateful for any information.

Miller tool was the principal producer for the Chrysler, Desoto dodge Plymouth and the trucks tools for the dealerships. The tools that they designed were also used on the assembly lines.  Yes there might be some aftermarket tools that were used but the main tools were made by Miller.

 

The olde miller tools are not easy to find even at Hershey, most of the tool dealers sell Ford and GM tool and then tool made for the outher car manufacturers. i have been going to Hershey for 35 Years and very few miller tools.

 

I do have three Miller Tools catalogs that cover from the mid 1930 - mid 1950.

I've found a few miller tools on ebay; they are the best. With so many MOPARS over 30 years, you have to wonder where all those original tools went?! Maybe just rusted away or tossed in a cleanup somewhere.

Yes most of tools have gone to the recycle or junkyard or scrap dealer. When there was a big push about 10 years ago to close the small MoPar dealership and then stick the dealership with the inventory of cars and parts after Mother MoPar asked for the dealership to help bail them out the dealership were on their own to how to make a living. Most switch over to selling used cars of multiple marquees.

 

Here is a prime example. We have a small local dealership just outside of Media Pa. The name will not be mentioned. The Dealership was start back in the 1920's was was past down the line to current family members that continued to run the dealership.  They even have the original 1926 Dodge that the family that owned and still own the car dealership.  They retained the small dealership even through the depression and Mother MoPar just threw them away.

 

So they got rid of the items that they could sell and get cash for.  The Big Three car manufacturers decide to only keep the large dealership and say go to Hexx to the small dealerships.

 

So yes these older Miller Tools are nearly impossible to find.  You have to look and search in boxes at swap meets or find some one that is a tool delaer on ebay and ask them if they have any Miller Factory Tools.

 

If you find what you are looking for then purchase them. I have been looking for 35 years and have a nice collection of early mid 1930-50 miller tools.
