Spotted On Today’s Outing - Chrysler

The little town of Nakusp BC. The old Mopars are easy to spot. This one is a Chrysler Windsor. Indicating a 6 cylinder, if I recall. I suspect 1948? I’m not dial’d-in on this era. I’ve heard them called “harmonica grill”.  Rear suicide doors. 
 

The wheel chocks tell me the car probably has a semi-auto or fluid drive. No park position. Plus the parkbrake can’t be trusted. You look at ‘em the wrong way and they can snap off. Well anyway, my ‘53 was like that.

You're quite right Keith.  It could actually be a '46,'47,or '48.  There are subtle differences.  One being the style of window cranks.  They were different for each year.  Right about the grill too.  That's why I call my '48 "Harmony".  Once I replaced my hand brake lining it is very reliable at holding the car in place on very steep grades.   Since they are Fluid drive, it doesn't help to leave it in gear.  If you did leave it in gear, on a hill, and just happened to leave the ignition key in the on position, without the hand brake in good order, it would start up and drive away all by itself.  Great little town btw.
