Hey Gang,

My 50 dodge doesn't have a sway bar. However, the 52 plymouth does. So I thought it would be easy to swap it onto the Dodge, Wrong. The holes are there for the center supports but the control arms appear to be different. The coil spring pockers are on top of the arm. Where as, they are on the bottom with the plymouth. Either way, the tires rub on the control arm and frame at full lock, right were the sway bar would attach. They are 225/70/15s squeezed onto stock rims. So I'll be keeping my eyes out for one to retrofit. One with end links. Any thoughts or ideas?

Thanks

Andrew

Hmm, you tires aren't all that wide.  I run P215/70-15's and those are less than 1/2" narrower and I don't rub on anything, not even close.  I wonder what the application for those stock rims are?

Jeep cherokee front sway bar is the best option I've found. You can buy used or new (dorman makes them). Choose one from a Jeep XJ body or in the year range 1996 to 2001 or so, the body was the same for many more years than that. Internet search says they were made from 84 to 2001. I bought a new one and made the brackets for the lower control arm from steel U channel. Search this site and you'll find a write up on it.
