One thing to keep in mind. That slot screw on the relay actually doesn't look loose. Also the forked style terminal end on that wire is the type that makes a bend at the end of the two prongs. This means the terminal screw where it mounts to has to be really loose for it to simply fall off. What I'm getting at is if that wire is supposed to be connected to the terminal on the horn relay, it looks to me like it was deliberately taken off. So if you're any good with a multi-meter, I'd snoop around a little bit. Maybe it kept blowing fuses, or maybe something started to smoke, or maybe it was grounding out somewhere. Spitballing here, but that bare section of wire at the horn end may provide a clue, perhaps grounding on the horn, so the/a PO just unhooked it rather than fix it. Part of the clue also being that only the one horn wire looks to be unhooked. The power to the horn circuit goes through the ammeter, so maybe either the horn was sounding or the ammeter wasn't working right due to that ground / short. Thanks! I'll have to investigate it more. I'll try and post another picture from my phone (more direct from the front), but what this picture doesn't show very well - both horn wires are combined before the spade connector. Are they supposed to be joined that way? I have some wire and connectors, although not period correct. My grandpa bought the property across the road (from the church house) from a Cherokee family in 52, and we lived on the farm there as well, first a quarter mile east, toward Claremore, then shortly after I turned 9, a quarter mile north from the corner, toward C'ville. (The house beside the Dollar General. 116th North & Garnett, I think they called it after Owasso extended the city limits out there. I moved to Ohio in 83, where my wife is from. What I do is open the photos in a photo editor (like Windows Paint, in Windows 7), then resize it. My cellular telephone is a Google Pixel 2, and for that I cut it down to 35%. With our old digital camera, I did it to 50%. My aim was to make so it would display in a single full screen when pasted into an email message. I find it sad that all of the ranch and farm land is disappearing. If you haven't been back, you wouldn't recognize Owasso now. It's actually starting to get too big, I think. That whole area, I've always known it as German Corner, has been annexed and is suited for commercial deveopment over then next 5-8 years. That housing edition that borders the church house yard on the west and north was an open pasture when I was still living at home. Now there must be around 3 to 4 hundred houses in there. My grandpa's farm now has some 100 houses in the back field, that was always planted in winter wheat when I was growing up there. Owasso was just a little Indian town. (One of my classmate's grandmother - also Cherokee - donated the land where the original town was built. The biggest problem the police there had to deal with was HS kids who did "California rolling stops" at the stop signs. To be honest, I don't know if it is, or not. I was told it has the original motor/transmission. Interior is supposed to be original, but I'm pretty certain is was all redone. It has the tube radio in it, but I haven't been able to get it to work. The previous owner said he got it to come on, once. All of the lights work, heater works, defrost works, even the hood light functions. The kids are the main reason we got this beautiful car. We have 2 trucks ('71 C10 and a '73 F100), but we can't all ride in the trucks as a family. So, the search began for a "family car". I ran across the ad for this car and pulled the trigger on it. I've searched around on this site a few times for info, and decided to join in order to learn more. I like to be active on forums, so feel free to ask me any questions and I'll do my best to answer, or I'll probably be asking questions. I put some tape on the upper seat cushion to mark the width. Then, pulled the lower seat out, which is fairly easy to do. After that, using the tape that I applied on the upper cushion, I could mark the width on the floor to drill holes for the mounting. I "guesstimated" for the exact locations. Tried to figure out a spot that would be easy to access under the car, as well as inside. This took a few times of looking inside, then crawling underneath to try and figure out what I was looking at. Once I had my spots picked out. I marked them with a Sharpie marker, then drilled a small hole from inside the car, through the floor. Once those were drilled, I crawled underneath and drilled the larger holes (I used a larger drill for these and I had more clearance under the car, than inside). After that, I used the seatbelt mounting instructions and hardware. They came with 1/2" or 5/8" grade 8 hardware (bolts, washers, nuts) and some extra large washers - probably 4" diameter - to use for mounting. So, inside the car was the seatbelt mount, washer, bolt. Under the car was large washer against the floor, then the other washers and nut. I'm pretty sure there were regular washers and lock washers for the mounting. It was last October when I installed them, so I don't exactly remember what all the hardware was. I started with the outer belts first, then the center belts. I think I understand that you use "only" the lap belts to secure the child carseats, not the clip on catches installed in more recent vehicles. Correct? (I don't know if I'll get my car back on the road before all of my grandchildren are past the age of needing carseats, but I have been thinking about installing those special clips in it as well as lapbelts.) That is correct. I just used the lap belts. You are correct, the "LATCH" system is bolted to the floor/frame of the vehicles between the seats' lower and upper cushions. That product I linked to, is an "add-on" version. I don't think they are near as safe and sturdy to use as the factory system, as they do not bolt to the floor. What oil do you all use on these cars? Original flathead 6 in the car. The oil is still clear and clean, but I'd like to have some on reserve and for the next oil change. ** Nevermind...
