Hi gang.

I've got my modified fluid drive, clutch and tranny in and now getting all the linkages hooked up on my 1950 dodge meadowbrook.  For the life of me, I don't remember the routing of the ebrake cable.

Seems like the sturdy metal braket that holds the e brake cable onto the shifter tower forces it to get threaded thru the little opening immediately under where the tranny bolts up between the two rear rubber mounts, but that seems like an awkward strategy. Please help!

I couldn't get a good angle for a picture, but on my 48 Dodge the e-brake cable leaves the firewall, curves down through a clamp attached to the steering column, continues to curve down and passes over the transmission cross-over between the transmission mount and the transmission.  I have no idea if that is the factory routing, but it seems to work.  I've had the car 15 years and it has always been that way.

That's how it should be. At least on a 1948.

On a 1950 car it possibly could be the same.

The collapsing of my old transmission mount meant I had a hard time getting the old cable out or the new one in. It threaded through the gap between the mount and the transmission. Tighter on mine than yours, from what I see. I had to put a jack under my transmission and carefully raise it until there was room to sneak it through.

Yes, that's how mine is. Different car, but of course they're all close cousins :) This worked fine for me, aside from the fact that the cable Bernbaum sold me wasn't long enough. In another thread you can see how I extended it. Hopefully yours is right on the money, but not the end of the world if not.

Thanks Bryan, that's helpful info. Is this where your ebrake cable routed thru?20230313_110046.jpg.b24a44f4eb73fe1535bf83b2413547a7.jpg

Hopefully you are planning on replacing the rear (rubber) mounts because from the looks of the one in the picture you really should replace them

I would also replace the front motor mount.
