OUTFXD Posted February 6, 2023 Report Posted February 6, 2023 Jacquilines Interior is in need of work. Charging running and suspension issues keep kicking the interior further and further down the priority list. Much like the Engine bay, It bothered my enough to make some half measures to make it at least liveable. Found new door cards on Ecrater, while at the moment I cant afford to upholster them, Its better than just leaving it open. When the back seat caught fire last winter, I beat the tar out of the front seat getting it out before it set the rest of the car on fire, I found a Split bench seat out of a 76 Charger-sport (Cordoba). Its cozy, has a center arm rest. head rests and is cloth rather than Vinyl so easier to sit on on hot sunny days. The rear seat frame is currently in place with a blanket wrapped around it. I painted the floor but cant yet afford new carpet, so rather than leaving the floor metal, I added some cheap rubber floor mats. I added a reverse wired cigarette lighter specifically as a USB power point. Controversy aside, this has been powering my offline GPS unit for months with no issue. I cobbled together some plywood and made a support for a cheap cupholder/center console with adjustable cup holders/ coin organizer slots (Anyone actually use these?+) and a storage space. I use one cup holder (the one with the glass stuffed with a shop rag) to hold my MP3 player and one to hold my coffee. As I said, a bunch of half measures, but it will get better as I can afford pieces. 3 Quote

Veemoney Posted February 6, 2023 Report Posted February 6, 2023 The road to recovery, slow and steady will get you there. Seat looks good and if you don't like the head rests down the road they may just pull out for a more traditional look. Door cards could be colored to help them blend in till more funds are available or cover yourself with some material by wrapping them with fabric from a local store like "JoAnn's fabric" or "Hobby Lobby". I have even used Berber carpet or rubber backed front door mat with nice, raised patterns that can be found at places like "Home Depot" on the cheap. Bathroom carpet floor mat has rubber backing and can be found at Walmart cheap on the floor for now. I put 1 over the hump first then 1 on each side in my everyday truck rather than those vinyl/plastic mats. They look nicer in my opinion, keep the stock carpet clean and unworn and add additional sound deadening for you. I found nylon reinforced waterproof foam rubber insulation at "Menards" which is another home improvement type store near me. I used it and carpeting I found at that same store to do a car of mine and it worked really well. Realizing money may be tight these options are cheap ways to stretch a dollar and still be presentable that may help. Good luck 2 1 Quote

LeRoy Posted February 7, 2023 Report Posted February 7, 2023 I used duct tape to reupholster my arm rests, looks snazzy. When the adhesive starts to ooze out and gets on muh elbows I bet I don't think its nearly as good of an idea. 1 Quote
