So I have had this truck since 2005 and we are finishing a full restoration.   Surprise, Surprise.  Just learned today that it has Fluid Drive.

As some of you may know, I  have several B-series trucks.  This particular one did not have the Fluid Drive badges on the hood, and I never thought to look for the extended bell housing.   Always drove it as if it had a standard 4-speed transmission.

Read some of the previous threads on Fluid Drive, and can add some information.   Apparently the Fluid Drive was first available for the B-2 model in 1950.  I have a 1951 B-3-C-116 parts truck with the Fluid Drive and can verify it had the separate script badge on the hood, as one was still attached.

I also have three 1953 Spring Specials with the Truck-O-Matic, and one 1953 B-4-D-126 with the Fluid Drive.  The Truck-O-Matic and Fluid Drive badges are the embossed style attached to the Dodge badge on the side of the hood.

Would like to have two Fluid Drive badges on this truck like in the attached file.   Really don't want to take the two from the 1953 B-4-D-126.   Let me know if you have any. Have the one from the 1951 B-3-C-116 to trade.

Bought the two from Washington State. He has more parts available for a panel truck if anyone is interested.   Of course I  have many other trucks for parts or projects.

Here are some links to videos on the restoration of the 1952 B-3-D-126 Flatbed Truck:

The stand-alone script style badges are extremely difficult to find. When I was building my B2C, about 16 years ago, I was looking for one. My truck had one good one and one that was broken and missing part of it. I kept running across the block style but couldn’t find any of the script style. Finally found a set from a guy in the UK.

Happy hunting. I wish you luck.

As I recall that same script FD name plate is installed on 1949/50 DeSoto dashes above the glove box.
