Dave K Posted March 20, 2022 Report Posted March 20, 2022 Howdy all I am putting my 1949 one ton back on the road after sitting for way too long… What are your recommendations for tires? I don’t mind bias ply. The truck is all stock. And will stay that way so long as I can keep finding parts. I have owned the truck since 1987 when my uncle gave it to me. It has been in the family since new. Thanks all-look forward to your tire suggestions. IMG_1170.HEIC Quote
Brent B3B Posted March 21, 2022 Report Posted March 21, 2022 For me, I am happy with the 215/85/16 i put on my B4D and on yours, it doesn’t look like you’ll need to worry about the rears rubbing together ? 2 Quote
47Jim Posted March 23, 2022 Report Posted March 23, 2022 I’ve got a ‘47 single wheel one ton, from what I understand there are two different one ton budd wheels for these, members of another forum were saying there’s one for single wheel (less offset) and a different one for duals with more offset. Does anyone know anything about that? I’ve never heard any confirmation or offset difference numbers. The main idea being, when looking for a spare, make sure it’s the same. Quote

Dave K Posted May 3, 2022 Author Report Posted May 3, 2022 Ended up having 235/85/16 radials mounted. I had the wheels sandblasted. Then primed and painted them. Looks decent for an old farm truck.....IMG_1310.HEICIMG_1310.HEIC 1 Quote
