Counselors called in for traumatized students and teachers. Scenario: Johnny and Mark get into a fistfight after school. 1967 - Crowd gathers. Mark wins. Johnny and Mark shake hands and end up best friends. Nobody goes to jail; nobody is arrested; nobody is expelled. 2007 - Police called. SWAT team arrives. Newspaper articles appear nationally explaining that teaching English as a requirement for graduation is racist. Don Coatney
Got to love Norm..he takes a beating here and comes right back..right down to having the best passing lane in his driveway amoung all of us...be honest with you, he sure helps keep things hopping... I heard he had yellow dotted lines in his driveway too. But a solid yellow line on the parking side so he can pass as he leaves the garage. End of the driveway is a sign making it legal to make a U-turn. No mile markers but foot markers so he knows how many feet he has gone and how long it will take to get back to the garage. BobT-47P15
Sad to say, that's about how things go today. I don't think the "good old days" were all so bad.

Heavy Flat Head
Number four sounds fairly familiar. Change to take on brothers kids after he dies. Mother is very abusive, than State decides you are a abuser not mother end up fighting in court and called names. Call state worker (loud voice) Nazi baby killer in court (always wonder why I never was arrested). Still raising kids, one coming along nicely the other has major problems. Sad, but is so true in today world. Norm do not take this wrong as I have learned to laugh at all this (family page) Thanks Norm for bring back found memories. Add to list: State worker saying that at three and four it is normal to be sexual active. I get carried away. Ed.
62rebelP23
and people wonder why i spend so much time with my cars. they, at least, don't steal from me, lie to me, cheat on me, call me names behind my back, or run up my phone bill, light bill, or eat up my groceries. the more time i spend with my cars, the less time i have to watch more and more depressing news on TV. i have become an "old codger", a "hermit", due to the simple fact that i'm seeing the society we live in become irresponsible and ignorant and completely happy to indulge itself in it's laziness. i have my wife, my 'coon, our dog, and my cars. and this forum of old car nuts to chat with! take that however it fits; you may be an "old CAR nut" or you MAY be an "old car NUT"..... Norm's Coupe
Nice to see I'm not the only one who thinks we should go back to the old ways of handling things. Tim & Don, FYI you don't know how close to some future plans of mine you came with your statements. Thinking about repairing the garage floor and seal coating it next year (if I have the time) with my products. Floor will be done in black coating and I have been thinking about putting a yellow line with the safety yellow coating down the center to keep the wife on her side when the coupes out of the garage. Also mark off around the work bench and along the sides of the garage with the same yellow. Did a quick lube shop that way back in the late 80's. Looked real sharp. May even add a little glass beads instead of silica for slip resistance. That way, the glass beads will sparkle when the light hits it. Niel Hoback
Norm, if you fix upyour place that nice, you'll have to hire a guard to keep youfrom getting it dirty. Kind of like that naked guy my wife keeps in the closet. She says he's there to guard her clothes. I guess so, I only see him when I come home late at night. Norm's Coupe
Niel My reasoning is not like many others dressing up their garage floors. Most people do it just because they want it to look nice. I'm more or less doing it out of necessity. My garage floor has been cracked and uneven for years. Outside of that the surface is good. However, it already looks like a spider web on the floor where I've filled in the cracks. After I level off the uneven parts it will really look bad in there with the patches here and there. So.........that's why I plan on coating the floor afterward, to hide all the patches. By using the black coating I won't have to worry about any grease or oil spots on the floor, they'll blend right in. All I'll be trying to do is make it all one color.
