Greg W 41 Dodge WC Posted January 14, 2022 Report Posted January 14, 2022 Does anyone recognize this 4-speed transmission? I’m about to pull it for a T-5 conversion and I’d like to know what is is before I disposition it. It is stamped with 35661 1813-1 and a large “S.” Quote
Merle Coggins Posted January 14, 2022 Report Posted January 14, 2022 Looks like a standard New Process spur gear 4 speed that was used in many Dodge trucks up through 1950. Quote
Greg W 41 Dodge WC Posted January 14, 2022 Author Report Posted January 14, 2022 Thanks Merle. I would like to leave the bell housing in and use Tom Langdon’s simple T-5 conversion kit, but want to make certain that I have enough surface area to drill/tap for the T-5 bolt pattern. I may not have this answer until I pull out the transmission. Both Tom and Paul Curtiss have been a great ? help to me on this project. Quote
chstrumpetdude Posted January 14, 2022 Report Posted January 14, 2022 +1. Helical vs Spur easiest ID is the drain plug location. Quote
Caldwelljj0 Posted January 20, 2023 Report Posted January 20, 2023 Greg, do you still have this transmission you pulled out? Quote
Greg W 41 Dodge WC Posted January 20, 2023 Author Report Posted January 20, 2023 Unfortunately not. It is long gone. Happy hunting. Quote
47 dodge 1.5 ton Posted January 20, 2023 Report Posted January 20, 2023 PM me— I may be able to help you out. Quote
