Don Colliau Posted September 23, 2021 Report Posted September 23, 2021 I haven't been around for quite some time because of my wife's health issues. Sorry about coming right back with a question. I have a 50 Suburban and I have a line on a pair of 49 bumpers and guards. I am really liking the ribs on them. Can anybody tell me what the differences would be for the mounting if any? I may be able to get the mounts too but if not i would like to know if i can make mine work. Thanks, Don Colliau Quote
Young Ed Posted September 23, 2021 Report Posted September 23, 2021 Are they 49 suburban bumpers or standard car bumpers? Quote

DJ194950 Posted September 23, 2021 Report Posted September 23, 2021 Years back I compared the part numbers between the 49 and 50 Plymouth bumper mounts and found the numbers were all different. Front and backs years and models How? I do not know. But maybe get the mounts with the bumpers. The Suburban rears are very scarce and I have seen only one for sale on EBay years ago and it was way pricey. Some mods most likely will be required. DJ Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted September 24, 2021 Report Posted September 24, 2021 (edited) I would suggest getting all the parts you can....such as the brackets. And....any pictures of the bumpers still on the donor vehicle. Similar as the 2 vehicles seem, there will very likely be some differences. https://www.automobile-catalog.com/img/picto28h/plymouth/1949-plymouth-deluxe-suburban-2.jpg https://www.automobile-catalog.com/img/picto28h/plymouth/1949-plymouth-deluxe-suburban-1.jpg Click on links for pictures of 49 suburban. 1950 Suburban....
