1950 Dodge Wayfarer engine

I am having alot of trouble getting my 1950 flathead 6 230 rebuilt.

 

Are there any other engines that can be dropped in without any modification that will work with the frame and the fluid drive transmission?

 

Or does anyone have a good running or rebuilt flat 6 230?

What sort of issues are you having with the rebuild? These engines are fairly inexpensive to rebuild. As far as a drop in replacement only a 218 or 230 will fit without mods.

I believe there is an issue with the number of holes in the crankshaft flange when using a fluid drive.
