Fujisawa Rob Posted August 12, 2021 Report Posted August 12, 2021 I'm sure this has been asked but I haven't found anything. The safety catch works, the main latch won't catch. It used to if I really slammed the hood but now even that doesn't do it. Checked the service manual, no luck. Is there a procedure for adjusting the latch? Quote
busycoupe Posted August 13, 2021 Report Posted August 13, 2021 It is difficult to diagnose without seeing it, but I would start by making sure that the cable and/or the catch mechanism is not binding. Make sure that the catch mechanism is lightly greased. Spray white lithiumgreese works well. Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted August 13, 2021 Report Posted August 13, 2021 if safety latch is working odds are your pin is aligned to the latch but you are not latching easily so you need to length the pin so it will reach the depth in the latch it needs to secure. At the base of the pin is a jamb nut...this you loosen up and then adjust the pin (lefty lengthens..righty shortens) Quote
