casper50 Posted August 6, 2021 Report Posted August 6, 2021 Bought my next project today and pick it up on Tuesday. a 1933 Pontiac 4 door sedan. Straight 8 3 speed on the floor. It needs some major parts so if anyone knows of any for sale I'd appreciate a heads up. Also looking for early Pontiac forums. Won't start this until the 53 GMC is finished so I have lots of time for parts hunting. Because of the missing major parts I got him down a bunch to $1500. Not too bad. Very little rust mostly in the running boards. I hope the dozer driver than hit the front last year bears the cross of damaging it forever. lol I need the following parts.both seatsbumpers and bumper irons6 wire wheelsstarterdistributorradiator cap (I know expensive), lolThanks I have a cheap way to get large parts up to Alaska so no problem there. RobertKB Posted August 6, 2021 Report Posted August 6, 2021 That will be an interesting project. You certainly have the skills needed as shown in the ‘55 Pontiac thread. Assuming you are keeping it stock powertrain as you’re looking for a starter and distributor. One new skill you will need is woodwork as those old GMs are full of wood. Good luck with the project when you start! 1953 GMC? Pictures? Quote
casper50 Posted August 6, 2021 Author Report Posted August 6, 2021 Photos aren't great quality. I lost most and had to copy these off of facebook. Quote
RobertKB Posted August 6, 2021 Report Posted August 6, 2021 Thanks for posting that video. You’ve done a lot but still have a ways to go. As you mention, it will give you time to gather parts for the ‘33 Pontiac. Quote
tom'sB2B Posted August 7, 2021 Report Posted August 7, 2021 Can't wait to follow the build thread. Will keep my eye out for parts Quote
casper50 Posted August 7, 2021 Author Report Posted August 7, 2021 I also need the spare tire covers for both sides. Quote
