PatS.... Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 I like the original steering wheel atop the tilt column in the Original SUV. Nice job all around on that car. Quote
JerseyHarold Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 The '51 convertible is at a dealership about 15 miles south of here. It was on eBay a while ago listed by the owner and it went nowhere. Not exactly a perfect restoration, but a nice driver I'm sure. $27,900. is in the clouds as far as price is concerned. Quote
jd52cranbrook Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Looks good in print. It's at 12 K now which would be a nice price for it I bet. I agree the buy it now is way out. But a really nice looking car just the same. Needs my motor in it to finish it off. :D Quote
Young Ed Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 51 convert should have full wheel covers not the cheapie caps. Also the cranbrook logos are missing and I believe so is the clock. I'd still drive it! Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 16, 2007 Author Report Posted October 16, 2007 I actually kinda like the small caps and trim rings on the convert....just enough red wheel to give it some color and a little pizzaz. The full covers, while nice, are a bit plain. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted October 16, 2007 Author Report Posted October 16, 2007 With color keyed wheel cover centers. Does it still sit that high?? Quote
Young Ed Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Its a nice touch. I will probably do the same with my 51 only with the bottle cap covers. May even do 2 sets one with each body color. Quote
norrism1 Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Here's a real 51 Seems your missing the curb feelers! Quote
Normspeed Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 I'll bet the feelers are on the other side. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 Seems your missing the curb feelers! Real men don't need no curb feelers, just like they don't need directions. Quote
Young Ed Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 Bob that picture was when it was freshly restored. Springs were incorrectly built. Another set have since been installed from Espo. Also no curb feelers. Quote
norrism1 Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 BobT and dodgepu, I think both cars need rear skirts if they made them! Seems to me anyway. Norris Quote
51 Fargo Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh I love the 50 plymouth wagon nice very nice Quote
Young Ed Posted October 18, 2007 Report Posted October 18, 2007 Dad has skirts for his car and they dont fit next to the stone guards. Quote
