PatS.... Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Neat pic of Dodge and snow from back in the day. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sherlock77/7453858/in/set-1142248/ Quote
RobertKB Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Pat, that is one cool old picture. Kinda scary though as it makes me think about what is just around the corner. My guess is that was a late spring storm just from the way the snow looks (duh, I just read it again and it says April 15). We had one like that in '67 in Lethbridge in late April, early May. The car is definitely a Canadian D25 so likely taken in Canada. Thanks for posting! Quote
Brendan D25 Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Naw, that was my driveway last week. I haven't washed the old Dodge lately. :D Quote

Uncle-Pekka Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Neat pic of Dodge and snow from back in the day.http://www.flickr.com/photos/sherlock77/7453858/in/set-1142248/ Nice picture. If you enlarge the image and look closely, you'll notice the de-frost screens attached on inside of the windshield and rear window. I guess they were merely double glass sealed on with an adhesive rubber strip (?) Those who have got their drivers licence in 30's & 40's can tell for sure... Quote
62rebelP23 Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 april 15th and he's obviously making reference to the height of the plowed snowbank. man am i glad i moved to south carolina; we got snow two years ago.....almost an INCH! closed the schools because of it. (no wonder our school ranking SUCKS) left Virginia because during my last winter there we lost four weeks worth of work due to ice storms. it's bad when the boss calls you to tell you not to bother driving to work, he's not opening the shop because HE's scared to drive the three miles to work... at least he paid us for as many days as he could manage to. David Maxwell Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 ...at the local automated wash. Note the chain wrapped around the bumper to pull the Dodge through the wash Quote
55 Fargo Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Pat, if it is Emerson Manitoba, it would be at the North Dakota/Manitoba border, which is Hwy 75 from Winnipeg, then it is I-29 ND, been down this road many times in my life...........Fred Quote
PatS.... There is another interesting photo likely taken in Winnipeg of a dignitary waving from the back of a train on a bridge. Is this a Winnipeg bridge you recognize? I wonder who the VIP is? http://www.flickr.com/photos/sherlock77/1516150314/in/set-1142248/ Quote
55 Fargo Posted October 13, 2007 Report Posted October 13, 2007 Looks like it may be the Train Bridge that goes over Archibald Street, near Provencher Blvd, in old St Boniface, the French District of Winnipeg, but I am not 100 % sure, but it sure looks like it..........Fred Quote
