Tooljunkie Posted December 1, 2020 Report Posted December 1, 2020 So let me begin with the fuel tank. Mid 70’s 1/2 ton plastic tank, relocated one cross member to match mounting strap location, ran filler neck to box floor. Its longer than original, but flatter.no longer a low point under truck. next was dealing with sender and gauge on 12 volts. grounded sending unit to cab body, and utilized the voltage reducer that was on cluster of donor truck. Power and ground to reducer, and insulated reducer shell as its the 12 volt pos input. Reduced voltage to gauge significantly. So i know there is only a couple gallons in truck, it reads just above empty. I think its a win. 1 Quote
B1B Keven Posted December 2, 2020 Report Posted December 2, 2020 Cool! Why the aftermarket temp gauge? Quote
Tooljunkie Posted December 2, 2020 Author Report Posted December 2, 2020 Original was destroyed. This one was on the shelf, and with little effort it fit into back of cluster. If i ever come across a working original it will go right back in. Quote
Tooljunkie Posted December 2, 2020 Author Report Posted December 2, 2020 15-16” vacuum on a cold engine, suprisingly rock steady. Not bad for a siezed engine that i knocked loose. once heater and lights are working, i think i can take it for a cruise around the block. 1 Quote
