Removing rear side windows from 2 door sedan

The rear window channel rollers on my 1946 P-15 2-door sedan don't seem to match the description used in the shop manual, which says: "Pull out the hair-pin lock wires and washers which hold the regulator arm to the glass channel." My car has these little mushroom buttons instead. Does anyone have experience removing these?

I replaced the driver side glass in my P15 a couple of weeks ago and ran into a similar problem. One of the regulator pins was secured to the glass channel by a non-standard clip that was made in such a way that there was no way to remove it in the confines of the door. After messing with it for quite some time I decided to take drastic but necessary action.

I drilled out the head of the pin in the regulator so the entire pin could be removed and the glass pulled from the door. After removing the funky clip the pin was welded back into the regulator without needing to remove the regulator from the door. I found some wire clips at a local old-school auto parts store that I used to reinstall the window.

This sounds like an extreme solution but it actually isn't for someone with a mig welder.

Thanks, after chatting with a few car buddies the consensus is to drill out the pin. Definitely not the standard retainers described in the parts manual. Every car seems to have it's mysteries.
