chuck 47 plym Posted May 19, 2020 Report Posted May 19, 2020 (edited) I met someone the other day that has a 51 or 52 Plymouth that has been siiting for a long time. He said the engine had been replaced a few years before it was parked, offered to sell it for a little more than scrap price. My question is how much other than the engine would work for my 47 Plymouth? Edited May 19, 2020 by chuck 47 plym Quote
Dartgame Posted May 19, 2020 Report Posted May 19, 2020 Transmission, bell housing, driveline stuff like the rear axle, and maybe some of the suspension, brake parts like the drums etc., wheels. Probably more than I am aware. Quote
Sniper Posted May 19, 2020 Report Posted May 19, 2020 Not too mention some of us might be interesting in some of the non-interchange parts you would get. Quote
chuck 47 plym Posted June 1, 2020 Author Report Posted June 1, 2020 I went to look at it today. It is a 51. It looks to be missing most of the trim pieces and what i did see looks pitted. The owner said it had a new engine put in 1960 and was parked in 1962. The car is in an overgrown area and I couldn't see what was stamped on the block. Im pondering if it is worth taking a chance on the engine not being stuck and buying it. Quote
tinlizzy Posted June 19, 2020 Report Posted June 19, 2020 parts alone are worth more that scrap price. I just paid 200 for one just for the rear end and have the rest of the car for parts. Quote
Andydodge Posted June 24, 2020 Report Posted June 24, 2020 Front suspension upper & lower A arms, spindles, stub axles and king pins are the same, or should be......tie rod ends are a possibility..........if you have the space & its cheap then why not............its surprising what you can find will fit once you start looking........lol..........andyd Quote
