Differential side gears

Dear fellow members. I'm from Stockholm, Sweden and are working on my 1948 Chrysler Traveler. I've come to a halt when I have problem getting spare parts for the differential. All the sites, AB, Rock Auto etc can not supply me with the differential side gears I badly need. Does anybody out there know who handles these gears?

Also, another question: Are there by any chance that my vehicle has got a HD rear axle? I've purchased from AB rear inner oil seals but they are to small.

No such HD options in a six cylinder Chrysler Traveler or even an eight cylinder...

On the 1946 to 48 Chryslers there are two different inner axle seal sizes that were used depending on production numbers.

Make sure you have the exact sizes OD,ID and width before ordering the inner and outer seals.

If your inner and outer old seals have part numbers use those numbers for getting the correct replacements.

The "Links Directory" at the top of the page has some other sources worth trying.  I've gotten some really hard to find NOS parts from AMS Obsolete (not listed in the noted directory).  www.AMSNOS.com

not 8 pass or Limo heavy LWB chassis

 

**Pinion gear 10 teeth... Pt# 663478

       .7535" ID X 2.130" OD

**Side gear 16 teeth...   Pt#867853

        3.204" OD 10 spline
