Dozerman51 Posted April 16, 2020 Report Posted April 16, 2020 Here two photos of an Aluminum Head I picked up a few years ago. Soon, I hope to install it on the IND-7(236.6) which is installed in my WC 1/2 ton Military 4x4. it will save me weight over the 41' Spifire head I have on it now, and it has been shaved down for some higher compression. I have bought a Chrysler steel head gasket as they say to use steel instead of cooper. 3 Quote
desoto1939 Posted April 27, 2020 Report Posted April 27, 2020 I had one like that several years ago but sold it. Yes you need the steel gasket and a different spark plug rich hartung Quote
Dozerman51 Posted April 27, 2020 Author Report Posted April 27, 2020 Thanks for the compliment Radarsonwheels. Desoto39, what brand and or part numbered spark plug do I need for this head. Thanks for any advice. Quote
T120 Posted April 27, 2020 Report Posted April 27, 2020 According to my 1937 Chrysler shop manual, it lists Champion J8 spark plugs for the cast iron head - Champion H10 spark plugs for the aluminum head. The difference may be in the reach of the spark plugs as you would not want carbon build up to damage the threads on the aluminum head. Quote
Dozerman51 Posted April 28, 2020 Author Report Posted April 28, 2020 Thanks For the Info T120. Much appreciated. Quote
