lonejacklarry Posted November 16, 2019 Report Posted November 16, 2019 I'm using a '53 bell housing of my '54 C1. The '54's did not use a side mount style of bell housing and that is what I needed for my application. The question? Did these bell housings have some sort of cover on the bottom? There are a bunch of tapped holes on the bottom which makes me believe that something was hung under there. All my literature is about C1s and does not include <54. Any help would be appreciated. Would you happen to have a picture or part number for the pan? I did find a 9-47-20 "flywheel housing pan" in my 1954 parts book. Now the question is: will this pan fit a 1939 to 1953 bell housing. Merle Coggins Posted November 16, 2019 Report Posted November 16, 2019 My parts book does not show an exploded view of the bell housing on the light trucks, but it appears that the P/N of the lower pan is 1266640 Quote
lonejacklarry Posted November 16, 2019 Author Report Posted November 16, 2019 Thank you, Merle. Can I assume that the page is from a parts manual that is prior to 1954 models? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted November 17, 2019 Report Posted November 17, 2019 Yes, it’s from the B-Series parts book Quote
lonejacklarry Posted November 17, 2019 Author Report Posted November 17, 2019 Great. Thanks very much. Quote
lonejacklarry Posted November 22, 2019 Author Report Posted November 22, 2019 (edited) Well, my regular sources came up dry. Anyone have part number 1266 640 (clutch housing cover or pan) for sale or have a source to recommend? Edited November 22, 2019 by lonejacklarry Quote
