David Charles
Shift linkage issues with 1952 B3B/3spd/fluid drive. After installing a new rubber insulator around my steering column in the under dash mount. I now have real trouble getting the truck into gear, especially reverse. No grinding, just won't engage. While doing the insulator i noticed the clamp at the column/steering box was out of position and loose. I positioned it around the top of the box and tightened it down. It must be out of position, since the truck shifted fine before all this. How do I now get everything back in the proper position. We have not messed with the linkage rods themselves. Thanks to anyone for your help, Dave Charles
Plymouthy Adams
you have done correct to establish the column clamp first....now you can set the linkage for each gear for a good crisp pop of the transmission lever and smooth insertion of the rod for that gear...
