steering wheel cracks

the steering wheel on our p17 is cracked. what have you done with your steering wheel? filled and painted, covered, left it alone, or something new. we are sure everyone would love to see pictures and get ideas.

after cleaning and gouging out the cracks I use 2 part vinyl bumper repair then sand clean prime and paint.  At one time I use  ordinary body filler but it cracks before long

Couple of before, during, after. Grind and fill with JB Weld plastic epoxy putty and another, runnier JB Weld epoxy. Sand, sand, sand. Prime, sand, prime, sand, sand, paint, sand, sand, paint, Final gloss coat and buff. Very satisfying results. Lot of sanding.
