Conn47D24 Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 Please assist with some hub cap advice. These all came with my 1947 D24 Custom. They have been in a box for 35+ years and I don't recall if I had them on the car. Questions: 1st photo, three 9 inch and one 10 " Which is correct for my Dodge ( 16 " wheel ) Also, the single cap in the 2nd photo. What would be the correct application fr this one? Thanks ! casper50 Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 I'm pretty sure mine were 10" for my 47 Dodge. 1 Quote
Solution Plymouthy Adams Posted February 20, 2019 Solution Report Posted February 20, 2019 9 inch caps were for use without any additional dressing rings that would simulate a full hub cap when installed.....10 in caps were used in conjuction with these rings as they were wide enough to help clamp the ring and hide the dividing line 1 Quote
Conn47D24 Posted February 20, 2019 Author Report Posted February 20, 2019 Thanks guys ! I did notice that the inside ( clip ) diameter was the same on each. Very interesting, as most of this stuff is. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted February 20, 2019 Report Posted February 20, 2019 (edited) On the 1946-48 Plymouths, the 9" caps came on the lower priced "Deluxe" model, while the 10" ones were on the "Special Deluxe" model....no matter if the car had 16 or 15 inch rims. We're there two models of the Dodge D24? I think that last odd cap belongs to an older model like late 30s or early 40s. Edited February 20, 2019 by BobT-47P15 Quote
