Normspeed Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 I think they call those dressed out ones "bombs". Those are usually the ones with the dual exhaust sixes that really crackle. Some great paint work and accessories. Quote
Shawn F. Posted September 13, 2007 Report Posted September 13, 2007 Yes they call the old Chevies Bomb's or bombas. www.chevybombs.com They know a lot about hydraulics, chroming and air bags. Quote
62rebelP23 Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 the Latinos put a WHOLE LOT of work in their cars; i envy the labor and time they lavish on their rides. some of it looks outlandish and crazy but they love it. i'm not into mirrors and crushed velvet but i admire the huge amount of chrome and the work that goes into prep for it. sure, it doesn't make the car FAST, it just shines. the "bombas" aren't retro, like the so-called "rat" rods, bombs have been around since an engine, 4 wheels, and a Latino got together! check out the movie "La Bamba", at the end, supposed to be 1959, the funeral procession is ALL bombs! the things that don't work for me on the bombs are the tiny straight spoked rims and the sheer amount of dress-up accessories. i go for the lean and clean look, minimal chrome in most cases. enough wheel and tire to fill the wells, and maybe some whitewalls depending on the style of car. Captain Neon Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 My Latino co-workers at all of the places I have worked these past 7 years are always the guys most complimentary of my P15. Before I adopted my P15 from my father, the local Latinos were often offering to buy it and my dad's '47 Ford. Quote
Joel Torres Posted September 16, 2007 Report Posted September 16, 2007 the Latinos put a WHOLE LOT of work in their cars. we are all CAR CRAZY Quote

D25_Steve Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Took me awhile to find the picture, but here is a p15 bomb. I have seen some in lowrider magazine too. Quote
Normspeed Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Pretty neat job. I'd love to see a side shot. Those look like old style Harley fishtail pipes. Quote
Guest 57plymouth Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Unlike what a poster on another board said, these things are not historic treasures to be maintained in strictly original condition for the next generation to see. That is just wayy to boring. Lets have some of everything out there.I like restored, rodded, chopped, channeled, sectioned, original survivors and just plain old beaters. I have to admit a bit of a cringe at seeing a low mileage original survivor heavily modified, but if it's well done, I get over it. It's just great when they are back on the road again with a new lease on life. I do get cranky when a decent car is chopped up and then the "chopper upper" loses interest, or does a really shi!!y job of it. Most of those go to the scrapper. That's a shame. Gee, I wonder if that "other board" may rhyme with Plymouth Owner's Glub? Quote
Guest 57plymouth Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 I say let the rest of the unwashed masses continue to turn their backs on Plymouth. Especially the 1961 and older variety. That makes them cheaper to get. Although parts will continue to be hard to get until the cars are popular, it just makes the finished product that much more satisfying! As for Floyd Cotterpin, Jo-tox the living dead girl, and Duh-wayne, f*** them!! They were treated like crap by the Plymouth Faithful in Tulsa but that never made it to camera. They are too stupid to keep an RV of wet salt in Bonneville. Jo-tox the living dead girl can't figure out how to drive in a STRAIGHT LINE without spinning. And Floyd Cotterpin routinely destroys nice restored Model T's and A's instead of buying repop bodies for his ugly cars. They are all hype. Floyd Cotterpin will go belly up again soon enough, he's done it over and over before. Quote
Normspeed Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 I hadn't heard that Floyd was mistreated by the Plymouth folks at Tulsa. Was he booed? I did, on the other hand, hear that he let the quality of his Boyd's rims get so shabby that he nearly lost the business a few years back. Not that I would buy billet rims myself. Quote
Guest 57plymouth Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Yup, and the ringleader was someone posting on this forum with a 57... Quote
