Robert Fouts Posted January 12, 2019 Report Posted January 12, 2019 Lock turns with key in but will not lock handle. Installed new tumbler, same thing happens. Latch works fine, handle will not lock no mater what I do. Went to lock smith, he said tab at end of tumbler is bent. I strained the tab out and put tumbler in handle and it bent once more. Why is this happening? Quote
Robert Fouts Posted January 13, 2019 Author Report Posted January 13, 2019 My prog. car is a 1950 Ply not a 1905 PLY. Please correct. Thank you. Quote

plymouthcranbrook Posted January 14, 2019 Report Posted January 14, 2019 Nice car. The orginal lock handle on my 52 had a problem with the handle that neither the Locksmith or I could fix. I ended up getting a different handle and put the cylinder in it and now it works fine. Quote
Robert Fouts Posted January 14, 2019 Author Report Posted January 14, 2019 Thanks for the reply. That is what I thought. Quote
matt167 Posted January 16, 2019 Report Posted January 16, 2019 I had basically the same car ( '50 Ply s/dlx coupe ) but unrestored, and the handle was broken. Quote
