Bingster Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 I saw on a You Tube video the kid was working on a 1956 caddy and did his own brakes. He said he found out that the rear shoes on the front drums need to be thicker than the front shoes. Is this true for a 1947 Desoto? Quote
P15-D24 Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 No. Would suggest you read through the Brake section in the the Technical section for background. http://p15-d24.com/page/p15d24/tech/brakes.html/ Quote
Dodgeb4ya Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 If the newly relined shoes (Linings) are thicker than .185" (3/16") you might not be able to get the drums back on. This if the drums are near stock diameter... STD. not turned. Quote
