Jj1981 Posted November 9, 2018 Report Posted November 9, 2018 I’m just wondering if anyone has leveled thier truck by removing rear leafs only. My question is is there certain leafs that give certain drop thanks Quote
59bisquik Posted November 9, 2018 Report Posted November 9, 2018 It depends on the condition of the springs and how much they are sagging already, so there isnt a solid rule of x leaf equals 1" for example. I started with removing the second from the bottom and then every other one until I was satisfied. I have 4 leafs in the back versus the stock 7. I also swapped the stock shackle for the shorter Willys shackle. I sit about 5" down in the back. Up front I did a 3" drop axle and 1 leaf removed. for around 6" of drop. Quote
Radarsonwheels Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 The willys shackle is like 1/2 price or less than the dodge one on rock auto too. Probably the easiest way to get a little drop and not lose hauling capacity Quote
59bisquik Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 The willys shackle was $10 when I last got them from Rock Auto. The Dodge shackles were about $40 from the regular vendors. Quote
pflaming Posted November 10, 2018 Report Posted November 10, 2018 The trucks came with different leaf spring combinations, per the buyers needs. An Iowa farmer who planned on hauling shelled corn would need different springs than a city delivery truck in California. So you need to know what you have first. Quote
Jj1981 Posted November 12, 2018 Author Report Posted November 12, 2018 I just want to level up a bit Quote
59bisquik Posted November 12, 2018 Report Posted November 12, 2018 Start with the second one from the bottom and see what you think. Quote
