tom'sB2B Posted July 3, 2018 Report Posted July 3, 2018 Having a difficult time finding the correct oil seal for the timing cover. I picked up this one from Napa, but am wondering if anyone knows of a better option. Quote
PT81Jan Posted July 4, 2018 Report Posted July 4, 2018 If there is a difficulty to find a replacement seal, an alternative is to take one with the correct shaft diameter and (let) fabricate a sleeve that fits the outer diameter. That should improve the chance to get one without much trouble which fits . Most of time I even get one out of the metric shelf that fits to my US truck. Quote
desoto1939 Posted July 4, 2018 Report Posted July 4, 2018 according t my National Oil seals catalog the timing cover seal for 1946-48 D24 is NAtional Number 6186 and this is the same as the victor gasket ss49521 hope this helps get the correct gasket or seal. Rich Hartung desoto1939@aol.com Quote
