martin53 Posted May 25, 2018 Report Posted May 25, 2018 Is there a thermostat housing that I can get over the counter. Mine is really rusted and started leaking. Finally got to cruise it now my 53 Coronet is leaking fluid Quote
Worden18 Posted May 25, 2018 Report Posted May 25, 2018 http://m.oldmoparts.com/parts-cooling.aspx#thermostathousing start here; might be the right one for you. Quote
ptwothree Posted May 26, 2018 Report Posted May 26, 2018 Mopar housings for V8 engines from the 70's use one that will work on the '51 and '52 models if that helps. I think they changed the housing later on in the 50's sometime to accommodate a lower hood profile.... Quote
CaptainGTX Posted December 15, 2018 Report Posted December 15, 2018 Had the same problem with my 53 Coronet convertible. Never could find a replacement, so made one out of an exhaust flange & exhaust reducer. Looks original and fits like it too. 1 Quote
Sharps40 Posted December 16, 2018 Report Posted December 16, 2018 (edited) OP.... I think i have a good solid not leaky one. I believe its the one that is 54 and earlier, has the tit and valve and elbow that bolts to the top of the water pump if i'm recalling correctly. If ya want a photo I can shoot one and if your just want it, price of postage. I should also have 2 fully functional nos 160F bellows type thermostats. Had em in hot water with a thermometer last year and they both opened at 160F. Shoot a pm if ya need to know more. Edited December 16, 2018 by Sharps40 Quote
