homer41 Posted March 3, 2018 Report Posted March 3, 2018 I have these 2 218s apart and just for grins I measured the piston pin diameter, the P-24 pins are approx. .859 diameter and the dodge of uncertain year has pin diameter of approx. .869. About .010 difference, what gives? I would have thought they would be the same. Dave Quote
dpollo Posted March 4, 2018 Report Posted March 4, 2018 without looking up what the pin diameter should be, I can tell you that oversize pins were available from aftermarket suppliers to save the cost of new bushings. Quote
homer41 Posted March 4, 2018 Author Report Posted March 4, 2018 That makes sense, after looking at the components closer it appears this engine hashad lots of work done on it. The piston are all also knurled. Dave Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted March 4, 2018 Report Posted March 4, 2018 the book listed 55/64 diameter as stated as nominal is .859 so the .010 oversize would not be uncommon. Quote
