ggdad1951
So, having dug way deep already into my TODD project, I am at a point that I will have to start cutting wires and things like that to clean off the cab for removal. I have a few questions I am sure people here have ready answers for: what do I do with all the "stuff", do I keep it JIC or? wiring harness: I doubt I'd EVER use it safe to cut up for easy removal of items (some of the those clips are worse than a Rubik's Cube to solve to take apart!) Heater/AC box and controls, reuse? resource? build? speaking of heater and AC...ducting? I'm sure I'll have more as I move forward... Thanks in advance! Merle Coggins
Will you need any of the wiring / ECU's for the engine or trans? Are you going to keep the floor and firewall and graft the new cab over the top of it?
ggdad1951
well considering the wiring is all from 94 and sat outside with mice and such I was planning on not reusing it really. Since most of the systems will be changing (no air bag, diff radio, trans, wipers, etc.) I THINK I'm safe to get rid of all that? I'm remaking the firewall and floor in the new cab, no grafting being done (things will NOT line up well enough for that). The ECM is pretty crude (1st year for the 6bt) and I've been told here at work if I REALLY wanted to I could likely ditch it and go straight mechanical with some hoops jumped thru.. Merle Coggins
Well, I guess you're working at the right place for that kind of inside knowledge...
ggdad1951
wow, considering all the swaps that have been done...seems kinda quiet considering the audience!
