Alexander Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 Hi Folks Anyone know if a fully assembled 1951 dodge coronet Drive Shaft will interchange with a 1947 Plymouth? Are they the same length? Flange diameter and holes the same? Thanks! Alex Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 Dodge and Plymouth do not share wheelbase till 1953 and then only in the smaller chassis Dodge...odds are not a direct bolt in...the actual difference is not on my driveshaft dimension chart for Mopar Quote
48ply1stcar Posted November 21, 2017 Report Posted November 21, 2017 Have a driveshaft made using this flange yoke. Quote
Alexander Posted November 22, 2017 Author Report Posted November 22, 2017 Thanks guys for the feedback. Bummer was hoping they are interchangeable. I love the idea of having one made with modern Universal joints!! Is the attached picture from Harold all I would need to bring to the drive shaft shop? Can someone maybe refer me to a write up on what is required? I know the topic has been discussed, but i cant seem to find a definitive set of procedures and parts that the driveshaft would require. 48ply1stcar Posted November 22, 2017 Report Posted November 22, 2017 These yokes will bolt to the transmission and rear end. You would need a driveshaft builder to make the driveshaft to fit. Your car is 66-years-old be a nice guy and give it a new driveshaft of Christmas. I included a link to show a local builder that shows making the driveshaft we all could use. http://www.aadriveline.com/Driveshafts.php 1 Quote
