Charles Posted October 28, 2017 Report Posted October 28, 2017 Hi can anyone help I have a 1953 dodge truck 1/2 ton flat 6 truck runs for 2 min then stops sounds like running out of gas carb was rebuilt same problem changed fuel filter it's getting gas I can see through both class bowels ? Also no reverse ? Quote
Merle Coggins Posted October 28, 2017 Report Posted October 28, 2017 Did you forget to disable the auto-idle shutdown system? Just kidding... What do you need to do to get it to start again. That could be a clue as to what is causing it. Are you sure that the fuel pump is pumping properly? If you disconnect the line at the carburetor and redirect the flow into a container you can do a flow test while cranking the engine. Quote
Charles Posted October 28, 2017 Author Report Posted October 28, 2017 I will test that but there is a full gas on both bowels ,fuel pump and filter bowel thank u for ur time . Quote

The Oil Soup Posted October 28, 2017 Report Posted October 28, 2017 No reverse could be an adjustment issue with the linkage. Quote

I would loosen the filter bowl and drain the fuel out of it. Then crank it and see if the bowl fills back up. If it does you have narrowed down the restriction. Quote
