Ajgkirkwood Posted August 5, 2018 Report Posted August 5, 2018 Could I have a tube join all 3 together? Would that help? Should it be near the top or bottom? Quote
martybose Posted August 5, 2018 Report Posted August 5, 2018 If nothing else, it would probably idle smoother with all of the intake pipes plumbed together. Marty Quote
sser2 Posted August 5, 2018 Report Posted August 5, 2018 There is no free lunch in carburetor setup. An improvement in air flow at high speed comes at the expense of transition performance (acceleration). Multiple carburetors make sense in a racing car, but not in a daily driver. Nowadays it would be weird to race the old Mopars. Quote

A lot of British cars ran individual runners on their engines without any cross tube think it would be an interesting exercise in tuning. Clifford research may give you some insight. You've already made the manifolds so I'd go for it Quote
Adam H P15 D30 Posted August 6, 2018 Report Posted August 6, 2018 Precise syncing is a must with individual, separate runners. With a common plenum you don’t have to be as precise and is much more forgiving. Multiple carbs tuned and set correctly on these straight sixes give a “street” driven car improved driveability as well as a little bit more power but it will never be a race car. Quote
Ajgkirkwood Posted August 6, 2018 Report Posted August 6, 2018 Talking with my boss at work we decided to have a square tube box between the runners and carbs that joins all 3 at the top. That way the share a plenum of some sort. Quote
Ward Duffield Posted December 11, 2022 Report Posted December 11, 2022 Who is running duals on a convertible? Where did you get the vacuum for the power top? How did you snake the exhaust past the X-frame/gas tank? Quote
