one-shot Posted October 10, 2017 Report Posted October 10, 2017 I think its Mopar, not sure where I acquired it. What year? Single shift leaver? Cant find it in my books. Harold Quote
desoto1939 Posted October 10, 2017 Report Posted October 10, 2017 Checked my 1936-42 Master Parts book for Desoto and it is not listed in this catalog so that rules out Desoto. The number would be inthe lates thirties range. Rich Hartung desoto1939@aol.com Quote
knuckleharley Posted October 10, 2017 Report Posted October 10, 2017 With just one lever, wouldn't it be more of a transfer case than an actual transmission? Maybe something made for 1 ton and larger trucks? Quote
one-shot Posted October 10, 2017 Author Report Posted October 10, 2017 I was hoping its an overdrive. I will bring home and clean up. And then pull the top. Ive gathered a lot of too good to pass up stuff. Harold Quote
Mike36 Posted October 10, 2017 Report Posted October 10, 2017 '39 Dodge has one lever. Column shift operated by a cable, and one shift rod. Don't know if Plymouth is the same. Quote
Mike36 Posted October 10, 2017 Report Posted October 10, 2017 On further study of the picture, looks like a cable going into trans beside lever. '39 Dodge. Quote
Mike36 Posted October 10, 2017 Report Posted October 10, 2017 This trans can be used in your '37 Plymouth by changing the top plate thereby converting it to floor shift. It is not an overdrive. 1 Quote
one-shot Posted October 10, 2017 Author Report Posted October 10, 2017 First many thanks. Now I know where it came from. Many years ago I pulled the rear end and drive shaft from a 39 dodge for parts. Must have got the trans also. I have several spare trans, so I will put it up for adoption. Thanks again Harold Quote
