marty..offy i9s a nice casting with fins and a matte interior (good).

however it has right angle corners...

edmunds etc are more polished with no fins and have more rounded corners.

so more rounded corners appear to flow better.

whether it is all worth it or not, i doubt it, my offy set up is cool, big improvement over single, nice looking and cheap, and you can have it with linkage in 3 days from the speed shop!!!

i have my set-up on pics email claybill@galenalink.com

All of the Edmunds manifolds that I have seen (including the one I am using) were set up for 2 single barrel carbs, just like the Offy is. I'm using adapters to install my Carter-Webers on the Edmunds, on my Offy we actually welded it up and remachined them for the dual Stromberg 97's.

Thanks for correcting me. My mistake. I was tired and all this talk about running Stromberg 97's on Edmunds intakes caused me to post that.

Pic 1 is an Edmunds in a 38 DeSoto. Pic 2 is my Offy. Even with the rough finish it cleans up real nice with a little carb spray on a small rag. Speaking of 2 deuces, the third pic I posted before. I have the guy's contact info if anyone wants something really unusual. No idea if its for a long or short six. Or if it's still available. Neat though.

I have a new Offy manifold with linkage and bottom gasket that I am going to put on ebay shortly. If anyone on the forum is interested let me know, The manifold has never been used as I went with a vintage Fenton instead. The linkage was used for a short period until I went to a different set-up. The gasket is the one between the intake and exhaust. I'd like to get $200.00 plus shipping if I could. If you would like pics I'll send an email as I have no luck trying to post photos on the forum.

Cheers

The wiring could possibly be for an electric choke.

There is a wire that goes to the automatic choke on the manifold for 48 to first series 49 Fluid drives (D24). Cant say for 46 to 47 but suspect same thing. Also for D34 and D42 motors with fluid drive, maybe even more yrs. So far all the carbs I've had on the engines mentioned above have been Stromberg BXVD-3 setup for fluid drive.

Okay, here's my pictures of a polished Offy

and a later model Edmunds (the picture Other Norm posted was an early model Edmunds, and IMHO not near as nice as the later ones!)

How do you post thumbnails here? I haven't figured it out yet!

Marty, dont quote me on this but I think thumbnails show up when you upload a pic off your computer. You get the pic's like you posted when you use a website to link them from there to here. I had'nt figured out how you get such big pictures to load with the size restrictions required, website or not.

Ed,

When you publish a link to a web location, nothing is on the forum site; when you open the thread, it goes out to the website you specified and loads the picture on your computer. So it bypasses the forum limitations altogether!

Thanks Ed;

I thought that might be the case.
