My family stopped at the Automobile Museum in Tupelo MS. There is a lot of different cars there. I would recommend stopping if your in that area. One car that cought my attention was a 47 Chrysler limousine.

That's a Crown Imperial 145" WB  Divider window Limo.

I think maybe only about 700 were made for 1946-48. Rare car.

The plaque that they had there showed that 750 were made between 1946 and 1948. This one was bought as a family car and was still in the same family.

It was an extremely sharp looking car. Does anyone know what the paint code is for that color? When my wife seen it she said she wants to do our p15 in that color.

In 1947 for Chrysler there were two shades of dark Maroon...that's the color I seem to see....

Up through march of 1947.... Royal Maroon code #18

Also used was....................... Regal Maroon Code # 16

Both are a dark shade of maroon.

Odd that the firewall is black.

Chrysler .... but it sure is good looking.

Sorry........I did not see this post/question till just now (Sat night).........I assume that is Fulton, MS.....and no, I

did not know there is a museum there.   Is it anywhere close to Tupelo?     We are going to Pensacola, FL in

July, but will be flying this time instead of driving.

Not one that I know of in Fulton MS. However, I think there is one in Fulton MO. Or near it. Been there.

A little correction:  Fulton is located between Kingdom City, MO and Jefferson City, MO on US 54.  It's about 7 miles south of I-70.

Fulton is also the home to Westminster College which is where, in 1946, Winston Churchill gave a speech which included:

'From Stettin in the Baltic to Trieste in the Adriatic, an iron curtain has descended across the Continent.'   The "Iron Curtain" stuck.

The Churchill museum at the college is worth some time, too.

Tupelo's Auto Museum is a real find. Most people never expect a museum of that size in the area. One thing they have on site is several bays in which active restorations are taking place. Occasionally you can catch one in progress and watch some of the work. I used to live in the area, Belden, MS, before moving out west. I have to admit it was one of the biggest factors driving my need to restore an old vehicle. Frank Spain was the founder, he was a great leader in the North Mississippi, as founder of the local NBC station WTVA. I was also a sort of inventor and a pioneer in microwave communication service beginning in 1959, I had not realized it had been around that long. he passed away in 2006 from cancer. The Tupelo Automobile Museum is his legacy and his life. If you have the chance, don't miss the visit, it is well worth the admission.

There is now a new Route 66 car Museum in Springfield, MO.  Located on College Street, just west of Kansas Avenue (on the west side of town).  The owner converted the building from a manufacturing facility to a museum to house 70 to 75 cars.  My bro in law and I went there a few days ago.....the man  has purchased nice quality examples of the cars he included.  There is other related memorabilia around the place plus a small gift shop area. I did not even know about the museum in Fulton, MO as I never go to that area of the state.  Thanks for the

information.  Maybe I can take a trip up that way some day.
