Hello,

My passenger door window on my 48 2dr sedan is very hard to roll up and down. Is their any tricks to adjusting it?

Thanks,

Ernie Baily

first  determine if it is wear in the flocked channels or missing flocking altogether, lack of lubrication in the regulator and associated lift arm and slides before messing with the adjustments..maybe a good ole application of proper lube in the right spot will ease the strain you feel in the mechanism

Lots of times you have to pull the handles and door panel/garnish,and then loosen the bolts holding the window to the window crank mechanism. Once you have done this put the window crank handle back on and roll the window up and down a few times so it "adjusts" itself in the window track. Once you get it rolling up and down smoothy, tighten the bolts again, lube the mechanism with graphite, and put everything back together.

Sometimes you have to replace worn seals or felts. Sometimes maybe even gears or rollers. Check yours carefully while you have access to all of it,and replace as necessary. If nothing looks bad, just put it all back together.

Well, I took the door apart and found out that one of the rollers had jumped the track and the window regulator seems to be worn out(woobly), no broken teeth however. Does anyone know a source to have the regulator rebuilt or how to rebuilt it(maybe something I could do?). Also their was no felt in the runners inside the door only the runner up the side and over the top of the door along with the L shape fuzzy at the top of the front runner. Also their are three clips holding the upper channel in, that are riveted and one squeezed in. I have new channel which has no clips. Do I drill out the rivets and reattach the clips to the new one or is their a source to get a new channel with the clips already attached?(specificatly for the 48 Ply 2dr sedan door). Any help or advice would be a great help,

Thanks,

Ernie
