Reg Evans Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 A car without a split windshield ? All the ones I have seen have the center arm that attached to the center windshield divider. I's like to put one on my 38. Quote
rearview Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 Yes they were. Here is a pic of one on an Olds http://www.flickr.com/photos/34059967@N00/820729028/ BTW>>> Not my pics or caption!! Quote
knighthawk Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 I put a visor on my '55 Merc, was supposed to supported by drilling holes the roof ! Luckily I was able to use the extra wide chrome strip around the windshield in stead.. Quote
Norm's Coupe Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 Reg, as knighthawk mentioned, the center support bracket on a car like yours is supposed to be mounted to the roof. Means putting holes in the roof. Also, unlike his 55 Merc, you have your wipers up there that might interfere with the visor. You could have a problem opening the hood all the way too. Also, if that is the crank out windshield like on the 38 Fords, that might also interfere with a visor. Fulton did not make a visor for 38's. Don't know about other brands. Quote
BobT-47P15 Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 Reg......this guy used a visor I suspect came from a bit newer model that attaches on the sides. Another view of same. This guy has one on a 39 model, but it has a windshield divider. Quote
Reg Evans Posted July 19, 2007 Author Report Posted July 19, 2007 Oh...OK...on the 38 it looks like maybe they made a little custom rod that attaches under the center of the visor and then down to the cowl. I'll give that a try. Thanks kids ! Quote
Plymouthy Adams Posted July 19, 2007 Report Posted July 19, 2007 My 50 Stude has a center divider but yet the support affixes to the back of the hood center area on the cowl..thisi s solid stainless device that is quite solid. This rod is telescopic and thus is probably intended to attach to various model vehicles. Quote
