garyp Posted November 7, 2016 Report Posted November 7, 2016 Trying to get a rough idea on the cost of a valve job and having the crank and sleeves polished in my 39 Dodge and if anyone in the eastern PA area knows a good shop that they would recommend? Quote
knuckleharley Posted November 7, 2016 Report Posted November 7, 2016 "Sleeves polished"? You mean "honed",right? 1 Quote
Dave72dt Posted November 7, 2016 Report Posted November 7, 2016 Call your local parts houses, They usually will have a pretty good handle on who does engine machine work. They may even do machine work in house. Quote
garyp Posted November 7, 2016 Author Report Posted November 7, 2016 I meant honed not polished sorry. Just trying to get a rough idea. Quote
Dartgame Posted November 9, 2016 Report Posted November 9, 2016 You might consider taking it to George Asche in Venus PA. West side of PA, but he is the expert. He is listed all over the place on this site. He specializes in mopar flatheads and the old trannies like the R-10 overdrive that are used with them. Very nice man and a wealth of knowledge. 1 Quote
casper50 Posted November 9, 2016 Report Posted November 9, 2016 I 2nd George. He's built a dual carb set up for me and it looks so much better than the Offy. 1 Quote
