Bingster Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 I've been soaking the drain cock on the front lower right (driver's) side of the radiator with penetrant and it finally unscrewed, except the whole unit came off instead of just the little valve turning. Are these reverse thread by any chance? Quote
Don Coatney Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 The pet cock mounting threads are not reverse threads. Should unscrew as a unit as pictured below. Quote

DonaldSmith Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 Yes, the petcock mounting threads are right hand, and are lefty-loosey. The threads of the plug work lefty-loosey, but actually screw in and push the plug away from the seat. Quote
Tom Skinner Posted September 8, 2016 Report Posted September 8, 2016 I thought the petcocks for these Radiators were Bib shaped? I have an extra (Solid Brass) L Shaped one. I am not trying to sell it. E-mail/message me if you like, (Your Address). I bought a it off ebay a while back, I will ship to you if you provide me your address. Bingster only. The one in the picture is a Vintage Power Wagon replacement bib (straight style). The replacements work well but piss coolant straight out - not down into a pail. Plus you can attach a hose to it to aim it into a pail, now that's pissing I tell you. L.O.L. Tom 1 Quote
Bingster Posted September 8, 2016 Author Report Posted September 8, 2016 Thanks Tom for the offer. Let me take another look at mine. I'll post a photo. Maybe it is bad. I don't know. All I know is that I thought that I could simply turn that little handle and coolant would come out. Instead the whole darn fitting came out of the radiator. Maybe I can loosen it up to where it'll work again. I'll check it out. Thanks again! Quote
